Controversial CEO of Tesla and SpaceX recently announced that he would be hosting NBC‘s SNL on May 8, with Miley Cyrus as the musical guest.
I’ll admit that I’m not a huge SNL fan, but even this choice as host has me baffled.
Elon Musk is a CEO, not a TV personality, let alone a comedian. How can he successfully pull off this hosting gig? Plus, reports say that he will have a monologue at the beginning of the show.
I’m definitely not sold on this one. And apparently some SNL cast members aren’t either.
When Musk made the initial announcement, he also went on to tweet:
Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is 😈

In an Instagram post, reacting to Musk’s tweet, SNL cast member Bowen Yang reacted with a frown and posted:
What the f**k does that even mean?
All I know is that this could go either way. Elon Musk could hit the stage and kill it, or he could flat on his face. It’s going to be interesting to see which direction this one goes.
