Kanye West, who recently reported that his upcoming album, Donda 2, will be exclusively released on his own Stem Player, claimed that sales for the player have gone through the roof just 24 hours after his announcement.
In a recent Instagram post, West, referring to the Stem Player, stated, “We’ve made $2,227,012.05 in 24 hours…”

In an attempt to turn the music streaming industry on its head, West says that he will not be releasing his new music on any of the popular platforms such as Apple, Spotify, Tidal, etc. He accuses the streaming giants of taking advantage of artists and this new move, with this new $200 device, is his way of protesting the industry’s unfair treatment.

In his urge to direct his fans to invest in the Stem Player, Kanye wrote: “Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”
Donda 2 is slated to be released this week, on Tuesday, February 22.
