Iconic rapper DMX has been rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack following a drug overdose.
According to TMZ, the hip-hop legend, who’s best known for bringing us hits like, “Party Up (Up In Here)” and “Who We Be”, overdosed at his home around 11pm (04/02). Once he arrived at the White Plains, NY hospital, DMX was placed in the critical care unit, where doctors say that he remains in a “vegetative state” with “little brain activity”.
Along with being an award-winning hip-hop superstar in the late 1990s and early-2000s, DMX also dealt with uncontrollable drug abuse, which side-lined his career. DMX has been in and out of jail for many years, slapped with charges that included weapons-possession, reckless driving, drug possession, theft, and animal cruelty.
DMX was most recently released from his latest stint in jail back in 2019, after serving time for violating a court-ordered drug treatment program.
We are definitely sending prayers up for DMX, with hopes that he pulls through this horrific ordeal.
