Maroon 5 Feat. Megan Thee Stallion- “Beautiful Mistakes”- Junkie Music Review

I can honestly say that I didn’t know what to expect when I heard that long-time pop/rock band Maroon 5 had teamed up with one of the hottest rappers out, Megan Thee Stallion, for their latest single, “Beautiful Mistakes”. So, I gave it a listen and, to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it on the first spin. Then, I took it for a few more spins.

Maroon 5 front man, Adam Levine, comes through as usual with the sexy, smooth rock vocals over a melodic guitar to tell us the story of a long lost love that he wishes he could find again:   I wouldn’t take ’em back/I’m in love with the past/And now we lie awake/Making beautiful mistakes. Basically, the one that got away.

Then Megan comes in with her signature southern drawl, as she raps about a toxic relationship and never taking the person back:  I know it’s hard to let go/ I’m the best/Best you ever had and best you gonna get/If we break up I don’t wanna be friends, you’re toxic.

Megan also hits us with a little bit of singing midway through the song and I’m not mad at it.
