The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to receive a high honor at this year’s NAACP Image Awards, which will be televised by BET.
It has been reported that Meghan and Prince Harry will receive the 2022 Presidents’ Award, in recognition of them co-founding of the Archewell Foundation, that recognizes upcoming talent and leadership in creating transformational change through social justice and technology to advance civil and human rights.
In a recently released statement, the couple said: ‘It’s a true honor to be recognized by President Derrick Johnson and the NAACP, whose efforts to propel racial justice and civil rights are as vital today as they were nearly 115 years ago. We’re proud to support the NAACP’s work.”
The NAACP, along with Meghan and Prince Harry will team up to create the NAACP-Archwell Digital Civil Rights Award.
Meghan and Prince Harry will accept their award at the 53rd Annual NAACP Awards, hosted by comedian/actor Anthony Anderson, which will take place this Saturday, airing on the BET network at 8pm EST.
