Rapper Vic Mensa was detained and later arrested for possession of narcotics at a D.C.’s Dulles International Airport after traveling from Ghana this past Saturday.

The Chicago-born rapper whose real name is Victor Kwesi Mensa is now facing felony drug possession charges after U.S. Customs officials searched his bags and found LSD and different forms of psylocybin, including mushrooms.

Mensa had been in Ghana, along with fellow Chicago rapper, Chance the Rapper, to help promote tourism in the country. While he was there, he also met with President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Apparently, this isn’t Mensa’s first run in with the law. Back in 2020 he was arrested after making an “unsafe turn”, while driving his motorcycle in Glendale, California. When the police searched him, they found that the rapper had brass knuckles in his pocket. He was booked on a felony charge of possession of brass knuckles. Mensa was later released on $20,000 bond.
Currently, the Feds are still testing the substances found in Mensa’s bags to confirm that it is what they think it is.
