Singer Ari Lennox Says She Is Done With The Music Industry and Wants Out of Her Contract

In a series of Tweets this past weekend (which have now been deleted), new-age soul singer Ari Lennox expressed that she is over the music industry.

During her Twitter rant, Lennox tweeted: “I want to be dropped from the labels. I’m done and tired.”

Over the last few months, the “Pressure” singer has been going through some rough times. Back in November, Lennox was arrested at an airport in Amsterdam by the Dutch military police and charged with public drunkenness and aggressive behavior toward an airline official.

On the flipside, Lennox stated that she was racially profiled and that’s why she went off on the official in the airport. She tweeted: “I’m being arrested in Amsterdam for reacting to a woman racially profiling me.” Lennox was later released from custody.

More recently, while being interviewed by host MacG on the Podcast and Chill show, Lennox was shocked and offended when the host, who was interviewing her about her style of music, explicitly asked her about her sex life.

“And where are we at right now? Is someone f**king you good right now?” MacG asked the singer.

Lennox visibly recoiled from the question and later took to Twitter to express her disgust toward the host and the others who sat by and did not intervene when MacG asked that question. Lennox also stated that she was done doing interviews. See the exchanged between the two at the 1:18 mark in the video below.

Now, Lennox is expressing her disappointment with the music industry. Lennox who is currently signed to Interscope Records under rapper J. Cole’s Dreamville label, seems to want out of her contract.

In a response to some of her critics, she tweeted: “For Christ sakes, I realize I have no hits. I realize you all can live without hearing my music. I realize my complaining is so aggravating to y’all. I don’t ask blogs to post me when I’m at my worst. You judgemental self hating parasites wouldn’t last a day as a signed artist.”

What do you think?
