Warner Bros. released the first trailer for The Suicide Squad earlier this week and DC fans already can’t get enough. It’s currently trending #3 on YouTube.
The Suicide Squad is the follow-up to the 2016 film, Suicide Squad, which dominated the box office by raking in nearly $750M, but still received some extremely mixed reviews— mostly, because of Jared Leto’s Joker. But, what’s done is done and we have to move on from that disappointment.
The Suicide Squad, written and directed by James Gunn, has a pretty all-star cast—minus Deadshot (Will Smith) and Joker (Leto) this time around— with Margot Robbie returning as the lovable, but super-psychotic Harley Quinn, Idris Elba (Bloodsport), John Cena (Peacemaker), Sylvester Stallone voicing King Shark, and the incomparable Viola Davis as the dangerously manipulative Amanda Waller.
It looks like this deadly group of misfits didn’t come to play any games. The Suicide Squad will hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Check out the trailer below:
